This is the real software, not a video. You will buy a ticket, hold the pass on your phone, scan it at a gate, and watch a second scan get refused. Nothing to install and no sign-up. No real money moves: the demo event runs in test mode, so a real card is declined and only the test card below works.
Two phones is the honest way to see it (one is the fan, one is the gate), but one phone and a laptop works just as well, and you can do the whole thing solo if you point the gate camera at the other screen. Any browser. Nothing to download.
On phone one, open freeholdip.com/b/DEMOFEST/events, pick a ticket and tap buy. At checkout use the test card 4242 4242 4242 4242, any future expiry, any CVC, any ZIP.
What to watch: the checkout is Stripe, and on a real event it is the organizer's own Stripe account. The money would go straight to their bank. We never hold it.
Follow the link you are given and claim the ticket. The first time, you make a free profile: pick a name and a password, and you go straight to your pass. Open it from your card: the moving code on screen is what the gate reads.
What to watch: no app store, no install, and the pass is yours. It lives in the public record tied to your card, not in an account we could switch off. That profile is a throwaway demo one; you can sign out and forget it afterwards.
On phone two, open the gate. The whole address matters, including everything after the question mark:
freeholdip.com/b/DEMOFEST/gate?verify=pack&gate=DEMOFEST2026
Point the camera at phone one's pass. You get a green ADMIT, and scanning needs no sign-in at all.
What to watch: the answer comes back in about a second. Open the gate page once while you have signal (that is when it downloads its verification pack), then put the phone in airplane mode and scan again. It still answers, because the gate carries what it needs and never asks us anything.
To actually spend the ticket, sign in as the demo gate staffer: tap crew sign-in on the gate page and use the credentials at freeholdip.com/download/alex.txt. Scan again and the pass is punched.
Now scan the same pass a second time.
What to watch: it comes up ALREADY USED, with who punched it, when, and at which gate, and there is an Undo for the moment a staffer scans by mistake. Screenshot the pass and send it to a friend, then let them try it: that fails too.
Do steps one and two on your phone, then open the gate address on a laptop and hold the phone up to the webcam. Everything behaves the same. If the camera will not focus, the gate page also takes a pass code typed by hand.
The checkout ran on the organizer's own payment account. Nothing is deducted when a ticket sells: our fee is one number agreed beforehand and invoiced separately, so it never sits between a buyer and the organizer's bank.
A gate that answers in a second with no signal is the difference between a queue that moves and a queue that does not, and it is why a field with no bars stops being a problem.
No app, no download, and no attendee database in our system to leak, because we never collect one. Your buyer list stays yours.
Nobody is using this for a real event yet. You would be the first, and the first event is free while we prove it together. If you want to see how it looks from the organizer's side, the guide walks the console end to end.
